Terms of Service
These terms govern residential and small-business services provided by Sonic Spectrum, Inc. under the SonicPCS brand.
Effective: September 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form an agreement between Sonic Spectrum, Inc. (“Sonic,” “SonicPCS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the person or organization that orders, receives, pays for, or uses Sonic services (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”). These Terms apply to Sonic Internet, fixed wireless, fiber, voice, related equipment, support services, and other services identified on a service order, invoice, Broadband Consumer Label, quote, or account record.
Your service order, applicable service-specific terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, Network Management & Internet Transparency disclosure, and, for voice customers, the VoIP & E911 Notice, are incorporated into these Terms. If a written service order expressly conflicts with these Terms, the service order controls for the conflicting item.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
You accept these Terms by ordering, activating, using, or paying for a Sonic service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract, or be acting with authority for the business or property receiving service. You are responsible for ensuring that household members, employees, guests, and other users of your connection follow these Terms.
2. Service availability and installation
All services are subject to technical feasibility, network capacity, property access, and service availability at the installation address. Fiber and fixed-wireless availability can vary by address even within the same neighborhood. Sonic may decline, delay, modify, or cancel an installation when the location cannot be served safely or reliably using the selected technology.
You authorize Sonic and its contractors to enter areas of the property reasonably necessary to install, inspect, repair, replace, upgrade, or remove Sonic equipment and facilities. You are responsible for obtaining landlord, association, or other property-owner permission when required. You must provide a safe work area and disclose known hazards that could affect installation or service work.
3. Service speeds and performance
Advertised Internet speeds describe the service tier and are not a guarantee that every device, application, or Internet destination will operate at that rate at all times. Actual performance can be affected by customer equipment, Wi-Fi conditions, inside wiring, device capability, Internet congestion beyond Sonic’s network, the destination server, network maintenance, and other factors. Fixed wireless performance can also be affected by signal conditions, interference, foliage, obstructions, and changes at or near the service location.
Where required, plan-specific pricing, speeds, typical performance, fees, and other information are provided in the applicable Broadband Consumer Label or other point-of-sale disclosure.
4. Sonic equipment and customer equipment
Unless a sales document expressly states that equipment is sold to you, Sonic-provided network equipment remains Sonic property. This may include radios, antennas, optical network terminals, power supplies, voice adapters, managed routers, switches, or related components. You may not intentionally damage, alter, relocate, open, reverse engineer, sell, or dispose of Sonic-owned equipment.
You are responsible for loss or damage beyond ordinary wear and for returning Sonic-owned equipment when service ends or when replacement is requested. Applicable unreturned-equipment or damage charges will be based on the equipment involved and will be disclosed on your account or service documentation.
You may use compatible customer-owned routers, computers, phones, and other devices unless the selected service requires Sonic-managed equipment. Sonic is not responsible for the performance, security, configuration, or compatibility of customer-owned equipment, although support may be available as part of your plan or for an additional charge.
5. Billing, payment, AutoPay, and fees
Recurring service charges are generally billed in advance unless your service order states otherwise. Payment is due by the date shown on the invoice. You are responsible for charges incurred through your account, including applicable taxes, government assessments, one-time charges, equipment charges, usage-based charges where applicable, and other fees disclosed to you.
If you enroll in automatic payment, you authorize Sonic and its payment processor to charge the payment method you select for amounts due on your account. You may change or cancel automatic payment subject to processing time. If your advertised price includes an AutoPay or paperless-billing discount, the discount may end if you no longer meet the stated requirements or if the automatic payment repeatedly fails.
Past-due accounts may be subject to late charges, returned-payment charges, suspension, collection activity, reconnection charges, or other remedies when disclosed and permitted by law. Sonic may require payment of past-due amounts and applicable reconnection charges before restoring service. Sonic may use third-party payment processors or collection providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Promotions, price guarantees, and changes
Promotional pricing, price locks, discounts, included equipment, free-install offers, support benefits, and other special terms apply only as described in the specific offer. Unless the offer expressly says otherwise, a price guarantee applies only to the recurring service charge identified in the offer and does not prevent changes to taxes, government fees, optional services, equipment, usage charges, or charges outside the guarantee.
Sonic may change service features, standard rates, equipment, network technology, or these Terms with notice when notice is required by law or by the applicable offer. If a material change gives you a right to cancel, you may exercise that right within the time stated in the notice.
7. Suspension and termination
Sonic may suspend or terminate service for nonpayment, fraud, theft of service, misuse, violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, threats to network or public safety, unlawful activity, material breach of these Terms, or when required by law. When immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the network, customers, or the public, Sonic may act without advance notice and provide notice afterward where appropriate.
You may request cancellation by contacting Sonic through an available customer-service channel. Any minimum-service commitment, early-termination obligation, cancellation deadline, or nonrefundable charge applies only if it was disclosed in your service order or offer. You remain responsible for charges incurred through the effective cancellation date and for returning Sonic-owned equipment as instructed.
8. Acceptable use and account security
You must use the services lawfully and in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy. Residential service is intended primarily for personal and household use. Business activity that materially changes the nature, traffic profile, support requirements, or resale of residential service may require a business plan.
You are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and the security of devices connected through your service. Notify Sonic promptly if you believe service or account access has been stolen, compromised, or used without authorization.
9. IP addresses, hosting, and Internet services
Unless Sonic has specifically assigned a static Internet Protocol address to you, IP addresses may change. An IP address remains a network resource and is not customer property. Sonic may renumber, reassign, or change routing as reasonably necessary to operate the network.
Sonic does not guarantee reachability of any third-party website, game, cloud service, mail server, remote-access service, or Internet destination. Customer-hosted servers and inbound services must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and may require a compatible service configuration or static IP option.
10. Maintenance, outages, and service changes
Internet and voice services may be temporarily interrupted by maintenance, equipment failure, fiber cuts, utility outages, wireless interference, weather, upstream-provider issues, emergencies, cyberattacks, or events beyond Sonic’s reasonable control. Sonic may perform planned or emergency maintenance and may reroute traffic or replace equipment to restore or protect service.
Sonic does not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Credits for an outage are provided only when required by law, stated in a service-level agreement, or otherwise approved by Sonic. Business customers receive a service-level agreement only when one is expressly included in a written service order.
11. Voice service and emergency calling
Sonic voice service uses Internet Protocol technology and has limitations that differ from traditional copper telephone service. Voice service may not work during a power outage, Internet outage, equipment failure, or account suspension. Voice customers must read and comply with the VoIP & E911 Notice, keep the registered service location accurate, and inform other users of the emergency-calling limitations.
12. Customer content, third-party services, and Internet risks
Sonic does not control the Internet or the content, applications, products, or services offered by third parties. You are responsible for deciding what websites, applications, content, and third-party services to use. Links from Sonic websites to third-party services are provided for convenience and do not make Sonic responsible for the third party’s terms, privacy practices, pricing, coverage, or performance.
13. Privacy
Sonic collects and uses customer information as described in the Privacy Policy. Network operation necessarily involves technical records such as account identifiers, IP addressing, device identifiers, authentication records, traffic volumes, connection times, and security logs. Voice services may also be subject to federal privacy rules concerning customer proprietary network information.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, services are provided on an “as available” basis. Sonic disclaims implied warranties that are legally disclaimable, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. Nothing in these Terms limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sonic will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, loss of business, or loss arising from third-party Internet content or services, even if such damages were foreseeable. Sonic is not responsible for loss caused by customer equipment, customer wiring, customer configuration, unauthorized access to customer devices, or events outside Sonic’s reasonable control.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
16. Indemnification for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Sonic from third-party claims, damages, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from unlawful use of the service, infringement caused by content you provide or distribute, resale or redistribution contrary to these Terms, or your material violation of these Terms.
17. Disputes, governing law, and venue
Before filing a lawsuit, you and Sonic agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute through customer service or written notice. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law or another state’s non-waivable consumer law applies. Unless applicable law requires another venue, disputes that are not resolved informally may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction serving Winnebago County, Illinois.
These Terms do not currently contain a mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver. Any future arbitration provision would require separate, conspicuous notice and would apply only as permitted by law.
18. Notices and changes to these Terms
Sonic may provide notices by bill message, customer-portal message, email, mail, website posting, text message for service-related communications, or another legally permitted method using the contact information on your account. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current.
Sonic may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this website with its effective date. Continued use after the effective date of a properly noticed change constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
19. General provisions
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your account or service without Sonic’s approval. Sonic may assign these Terms as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of the applicable business or network.
